Redliner Controls

Redliner's movement system is its core identity. Mastering dash, slide, wallrun, and grapple while switching between melee and gun combat requires knowing every default keybind. All controls can be rebound in settings.

PC Keybinds

These are the default PC keybinds as confirmed by the developers and early access builds. Every binding can be changed in the in-game settings menu.

Movement Controls

Movement in Redliner is not optional — standing still makes you an easy target. Chain these abilities together to maintain speed and control the arena.

  • Dash (Shift): Quick burst of speed in your movement direction. Use to dodge attacks, close distance, or reposition during gunfights.
  • Slide (Ctrl): Low-profile slide while moving. Maintains momentum and lets you duck under attacks. Slide into a dash for speed chains.
  • Wallrun (Space near wall): Jump toward a wall and hold Space to run along it. Essential for vertical map traversal and surprise angles.
  • Grapple (E/RMB): Fire the grapple hook to pull yourself toward surfaces or swing across gaps. Combine with wallrun for maximum mobility.

Combat Controls

Redliner blends melee swordplay with gun combat and a unique parry system. Switching between weapons quickly is key to winning fights.

  • Melee (LMB): Primary close-range attack. Fast strikes build Clash opportunities and Instability on opponents.
  • Gun (Q): Switch to ranged weapon. Use after parrying or during movement chains for burst damage.
  • Parry (F): Block incoming melee attacks and bullets. Successful parries open counter-attack windows. This is Redliner's most skill-expressive mechanic.
  • Clash: When two players attack simultaneously, strikes collide with yellow sparks. Both gain Instability — the faster attacker deals more.

Customization

All keybinds in Redliner are fully interchangeable. Open the in-game settings menu to rebind any action. Consider these optimization tips:

  • Place Parry on a finger you can reach instantly — many top players use F or a mouse side button.
  • Keep movement keys on the same hand side for muscle memory consistency.
  • Grapple on E or RMB depends on whether you prefer keyboard or mouse-heavy play.
  • Test custom binds in 1v1 Duels before using them in Battlegrounds.
